51 days

yesterday was a great workout!
ran/walked a mile
biked 2 miles
abs & push ups
fast walk .5 mile
slow (2.7-3.0) walk
really burned the cals!!

still no low fat shakes will start liquids only when they come. i should have 1 shipment arrive today.

maybe macaroni grill for dinner tonight??? they have an awsome filet...

i ran again today

What a great sweaty mess i was this morning.

1 mile total on the crappy hotel treadmill and about 7 miles on the bike.

It felt amazing!!!

Not sure what my schedule is going to be this week with running, etc. i do have a trainer appt Saturday.

ok ... back with the program - exercise 10/19

week 1 day 3 of the couch to 5 k program. i am progressively getting a tad faster. i dont know any other way to get my HR up. maybe an incline interval?? Monday i burned 14 cals a minute, Wed was 13.8, today was 13.2 so i dunno if my body is getting used to the running or what????

3o mins to do 1 3/4 mile - not bad at all... :)




after my run i did some ab work.
oblique crunchies - where i lay on floor, knees bent where my heels are as close to my bum as i can get them (not very) i lift my shoulders off the ground like a regular crunch but then i just go sideways and touch my ankle or calf with my hand ... go back and forth each hand. i did 2 sets of 30.

regular crunches - 2 sets of 15

pushups - 2 sets of 10 (yeah, i know) ... my arms were really sore from yesterday's workout though...

i dont want to talk about it..

ok, so last night i was craving everything under the sun ...

i gave in and had lots of sweets (apple fritters - those are bad and should be outlawed) for those of you who do not know what it is, basically it's dough with apple filling and then fried and glazed ... really healthy.

we then went to Olive Garden for dinner ... CARB OVERLOAD.

needless to say the scale is SO far up i think im going to puke. yes, i am retaining water like a mad woman, but geesh!!

i am staying strict low carb today and tomorrow and hopefully TOM will come and go by Monday's weigh in (hahahahahahahahahahaha!)

on a good note - we did measurements today. 1 3/4 down in my waist since last month! wooo hooo

wooo hooo ... new decade

worked out with Steph this morning for 1/2 session and did 1.75 miles on the elliptical. that stupid machine loves to kick my ass. but i love it. i was drenched when i was finished.

well, i made my goal that i set last week. today i hit 269 (and 5/8). i am just pleased as punch.

tonight i have my first lap band support meeting. i am really looking forward to it. hopefully, someone from i used to work with ... that would just be strange. i heard she's gained quite a bit since i left the department. she is actually the reason i started looking into the lap band so for that i am thankful.

i will post my pics of workouts later maybe.

06September work out

i had an hour session with Steph this morning.

before, i hopped on the elliptical and cranked out 3/4 mile. it was AMAZING. wow wow wow.

Steph truly is amazing. she knows just how hard to push me and i was hot and sweaty all training session. she even made me do push ups!! they were horrible and i barely got down, but it's better than nothing i suppose. she is making me feel stronger each day.

after my session, i cranked out another 3/4 mile on the elliptical.

yesterday was my 'free day' and i did gain. a tad over 2 pounds, but we'll see what happens tomorrow. my last free day i gained, then dropped over double what i gained, so i am anxious to see what happens.

i cant believe i've been banded almost a year. Sunday it will be 11 months. i still have a LONG way to go, but am very pleased with how far i've come. i am wearing one of my "Target dresses" and it is actually loose on me! of course i have my "sucker inner" on, but i've always worn one with this dress and it is actually getting a bit baggy... woooo hooooo.

what an infreaking-credible workout!

i was drenched when i was finished. total of 2.75 miles on elliptical and 9 on the bike. i also did my torso twists 3x15 and a little balance work.

it is a "free day" and i had a hash brown. of course i got the combo but cant even think about eating it right now ... **sigh**

weight was down this morning - 272.75

04 Sept work out

i think i pulled a muscle in my glute ... yup ... i've got a pain in my ass.

2 miles on elliptical and 10.11 on the bike.
- legs up / ball grab 2x 12
- balance bicep curl 1x12, 1x6 7.5 lb weight

i am really sore from yesterday's ab work. weight is bouncing in the 273's ... sigh

03 September work out

damn my legs are sore. i usually start off with the elliptical and go for 1.25-ish miles, go to bike for about 10 then back to elliptical. well it being Labor Day, the gym was packed and all my (yes MY) ellipticals were taken. had to start with the bike - did 10 miles, then 2.5 miles straight on the stupid elliptical.

towards the end was really tiring. i just kept repeating "exercise for the body you want, not for the body you have" and that seemed to keep me going .

after cardio, i did strength training.
- calf stretches all 3 sides - 2x8
- torso twists 3x15
- ball crunch 3x15
- ball bridges 2x12
- shoulder press w/ ball 2x12 (2 sets each arm)



over all a pretty intense work out. after i went to the hot tub for about 5 minutes to try to help with my thighs. didnt do much.

weight last week was pretty much the same. i need to up my cals a bit.

01 September work out

had a training session with Steph today, it was great! she pushed me SOOO hard. i loved it. i went on the elliptical before and then the bike after, so it was a great work out. not sure if i will be going tomorrow, but i need to get some miles in. i need to average about 12 a day for 20 days. it is really difficult to get the miles in when i train (2 days a week), so i need to crank it!!

the elliptical was about a level 7-8 resistance and a higher incline than normal. those 18 minutes were ROUGH!!


the bike i averaged level 2-3, dont think i cranked it above 5 or 6 the entire time, but it was a nice ride.

OMG ... leg muscles!

no wonder my thighs have been killing me ... my muscles are starting to define more... i know i have a long (L O N G) way to go, but if you look towards the left, you can see the muscle definition... yay me ...

16 Aug work out

had a very good workout with Steph today. we did an interval 4 times, worked bike, shoulders, hamstrings, more shoulders/arms, obliques - thats all i can remember.

she knows just how hard to push me which i really like. what i love is that she gives me a great variety!

i am so excited. i am really bloated (feel F A T) today... and 2 women at the gym (never chatted with them before) told me how proud they were of me and am looking good.

i SO needed that today! :)

the good news is - - da da duhhhh... - even with a visit from TOM and eating the SF candy last night, down 5/8 of a pound.... sooooooooo close to 279. i even tried to push it to 279 7/8 and the scale just would not let me... oh well. now i have something to look forward to tomorrow!

13 August work out

I worked out with Steph today. she really is great! i really like the variety she gives me, although it does almost kill me.

we worked arms, shoulders and legs today. of course balance was part of the arm work out. not a pretty sight!!

i am down another 2-ish pounds today and that brings me to 122.2 gone. i am in the double digits "to go". of course, it is 99.8 to go, but hey, gotta start somewhere!!

i upped the intensity / resistance on the bike today. my average is usually 2-4 resistance. today i was a minimum of 5 and went up to 7. i still did 7.75 miles in a little over 21 minutes. not too shabby. of course my legs were burning!

09 August work out

only did about 7 minutes on the bike today, but i had a 55 minute session w/ Steph this morning. oh boy, i am so tired!! she really knows how to push me and takes me farther than where Keri took me so tahts a good thing.

another good thing - down almost 2 pounds so i must be doing something right... : )

06Aug work out and stuff

happy Monday! i cant believe it's Monday already!!


i am starting a 12 week challenge. more information can be found here. that is a google spreadsheet with my weight and work out information.

DD woke up at 4:00 crawling in our bed.... i dont think so ... DH brought her back to her room, but she didnt like it, I went in to check on her and figured since i was awake anyway, i might as well go work out. i had a nice (short) cardio work out before my 1/2 training session. we did some really difficult things that i think i may eventually like, but oh boy.

one was a ball bridge.. the closest one i found is the stability ball hip bridge found here. we also did curls while standing on one leg... four sets of ten ... *sigh* i am going to be so sore tomorrow. but it was good.

i am down 8.75 pounds for this week. not too shabby. can i keep it up? i am going to try my hardest.

i had my first session with my new trainer today. she totally kicked my ass. it was amazing. so much that i immediately told her for now i'd like to see her for 2 sessions a week (1 1/2 hours). i worked on abs (crunches), then did an interval of weights (both manual and machine) then elliptical. it was perfect!!

eating has been much better. i am on a very low carb version of Atkins (not many veggies to keep the carbs to a minimum for now). not sure if i am in ketosis, but i'm feeling pretty good.

i am down almost 5 pounds since Monday, so this whole diet/exercising works!! imagine that.

let's see how long i can do this. my hope is to drop a total of 150 by 08 October (my 1 year bandiversary). i have 36 1/2 pounds to go. hopefully i'll be able to make it.

06 May 2007 work out

gahhhhh ... did the interval training w/ Kari yesterday, decided to do it on my own today as well. oh boy am i sore already!!

but this is working. i weighed in today and was down to 310 and a bit. that's the lowest i've been in a very very long time. (10+ years)

we bought some dumbells at Target tonight. this will help with my upper body work outs at home... :)
