How soon after Joshua is born do they plan to come? Cause if my MIL (God rest her soul) had thought she'd come right away, she'd have another thing coming. Pull rank there, hun.
Don't know if it's cultural in your DH's family (I know in many places it is) for the grandmother to come take over care of the baby, but it's not a tradition in yours. So they should respect you and wait at least a few weeks or as long as you want and need to get into your own routine to come and visit.
Dig your heels in, then blame the bitchiness on hormones later.
